All grammar checker solutions can be divided into two categories – on-premises and cloud-based solutions, or in layman terms, tools that work offline and online. Since only you know when and where you prefer to write, you will have to decide. Offline grammar checkers are convenient when you are on a constant move and don’t have access to the internet.

Online tools come with considerably more features and support more integrations. We will come to this later on. There are even some tools that work perfectly fine when you are either off and online. The bottom line is – if you find a tool that suits your personal needs, in terms of integrations and features, make sure to check whether it exclusively works online, offline or supports both modes.
